Frequently asked questions.
What languages do you work with?
Our primary language pairs are ES-EN, EN-ES, FR-ES, ES-FR, DE-ES, ES-DE, PT-ES, ES-PT, IT-ES, ES-IT, EN-FR, EN-DE, EN-PT and EN-IT. For Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic we work through our specialist network for specific services including patent translation and multimedia localization. Contact us for availability.
Are you based in Madrid?
Yes. Our office is at C. de los Montes Pirineos, 38, Puente de Vallecas, 28018 Madrid. We have been operating from this address since 2013. All administrative functions, project management, and quality control are handled from Madrid.
What is the difference between translation and transcreation?
Translation converts the meaning of the original text into the target language, preserving structure and content. Transcreation rewrites the content from scratch for the target audience, preserving the intent, tone, and emotional effect but not necessarily the wording. For marketing campaigns, slogans, and brand narratives, transcreation produces copy that actually works in the target market rather than copy that reads like a translation.
How does conference interpretation work?
Simultaneous interpretation runs in real time via interpretation booths. Consecutive interpretation is delivered after each speaker pause without booths. We handle equipment supply, interpreter coordination, pre-event briefings, and on-site logistics. Contact us at least 4 weeks before the event date for availability.
What is machine translation post-editing?
Post-editing corrects and improves machine-translated output. We accept DeepL, Google Translate, and custom NMT output. Light post-editing addresses fluency and obvious errors. Full post-editing brings the output to the same standard as a human translation. We recommend full post-editing for any text that will be published or used in a client-facing context.
What is included in each plan?
Barrio covers short projects up to 1,200 words in a single language pair with standard 7-day delivery. Distrito covers mid-size projects up to 6,000 words in two pairs with specialist review and 14-day delivery. Capital covers complex projects up to 20,000 words with full QA, a dedicated project manager, and priority 21-day delivery.
Can I add extras to any plan?
Yes. All four add-ons can be combined with any plan: Express 24h delivery, Official Certified Copy preparation, Third-Party Independent Revision, and Terminology Database and Glossary creation. You can select these in the package builder or mention them when requesting a quote.
How do I receive the translated files?
Translations are delivered by email in the agreed format. Standard formats include DOCX, PDF, TXT, XLSX, PPTX, HTML, and XML. For software localization and multimedia projects, we deliver in the source format (PO, XLIFF, JSON, SRT, etc). If you need a different format, mention it when placing the order.
What is the correction window?
You have 7 calendar days from delivery to request corrections relating to translation accuracy at no extra cost. New requests, scope changes, or changes to the source document after delivery are outside the correction window. After 7 days we are still available for questions at no charge.
